Review(s):

I'm not always a fan of prequels, just look at the recent bond films, OK the batman films recently have been an improvement, but if any prequel were to change my mind (& not just with Vulcan mind meld or other alien trickery) it is this film.

From start to finish, edge of your seat. What JJ Abrams did with Alias he is now doing with Star Trek. A great cast (by the way is Zachary Quinto a young clone of Leonard Nimoy or what!)

The only thing I missed was the lack of stilted 'kirk'esque internation. However I liked the way that Abrams explains away all the slight differences in this prequel by the use of a slight hiccup in the space time continuum causing an alternative timeline branching off at this point. This of course allows him future licence to even further off on divergent time lines effectively tweaking Star Trek history without annoying die hard fans.

If you aren't particularly a star trek fan, but enjoy a good action or sci fi film this great, if you are a star trek fan, then why are you even bothering to read this, just go see it now!
